These banana swirls are an easy and simple treat all the family will enjoy! There are lots of different ways to fill them, I used homemade strawberry chia jam & peanut butter for Grace and Nutella for Mattia and l 🤤
Ingredients
1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry
Smooth peanut butter (or the nut butter you like)
Strawberry Chia jam or store bought strawberry jam
Nutella
2 medium bananas
Ingredients
for the chia jam
50g frozen strawberries or raspberries
1 tbsp of water
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (avoid honey for babies under 1 year old)
Method
for the chia jam
In a small saucepan add the frozen strawberries and water and allow to defrost over a low heat.
When the strawberries have become soft mash down with a fork.
Remove from the heat, add maple syrup/honey and chia seeds and mix well.
Keep the leftover in an airtight container for a couple of days
Method
Divide your puff pastry in two.
Evenly spread the peanut butter and the jam on one half of the puff pastry and Nutella on the other.
Place the bananas along the side of the puff pastry.
Tightly roll the pastry around the banana.
Cut the roll into equal slices (1.5-2cm each)
Place the slices, cut-side down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes or until golden on top.
Enjoy!
